I agree with the writer of the 'Conducting' piece. Although I conducted a number of quarters and pieces during practices, I find that as
our band is now mainly older ringers, they cannot hear me. Women's voices are often lost and one has to deepen and project quite a lot, especially in a larger or more resonant ringing room, which can be quite demanding. Maybe there are microphones which can be attached to collars but I have never seen any in use and don't know whether they would be effective in ringing situations.
